TAKUMI
COLORS

Bingo Province was located in present-day Okayama Prefecture and the eastern part of Hiroshima Prefecture and long functioned as an important hub for trade and other interactions. The area developed a unique history and culture as well as admirable traditions and craftmanship. Blessed with abundant natural beauty and a mild climate, the Setouchi Region has passed down delicious local specialties from generation to generation.

SETOUCHI TAKUMI COLORS offers special interactive programs that give visitors the chance to observe and experience the exquisite craftsmanship and unique manufacturing in the Setouchi Region. Each one- or two-day program is limited to one group per time to ensure that visitors enjoy access usually reserved for apprentices.

Four Interactive Programs
in the Setouchi Region

SETOUCHI TAKUMI COLORS offers four programs to choose from: the Bizen Ware Experience (Bizen City, Okayama Prefecture), featuring one of six ancient Japanese kilns with a history stretching back over 1,000 years; the Gobara Lacquerware Experience (Maniwa City, Okayama Prefecture), featuring high-quality local materials; the Osafune Sword Experience (Setouchi City, Okayama Prefecture), highlighting a sword making tradition that has been passed down since the Kamakura Period (1192-1333); and the Bingo Tatami Experience (Fukuyama City, Hiroshima Prefecture), featuring Bingo Rush, which gives this prized tatami its exquisite quality and texture. These four programs give visitors an intimate look at the deep traditions and craftsmanship developed in the Setouchi Region.
